As long as I can remember I have wanted to work with children. I became a teacher in 2003. I taught music, choir and singing to students aged 4 to high school seniors in both public and private schools as well as in private lesson studios in 3 separate states. My first child was born in 2010 (I have three now!) and I got my first pro camera. I was envious of the beautiful photos some of my friends took of their children and I wanted to capture beautiful memories of my child too! Simply having the camera wasn’t enough. I began taking online courses, put on by world renown photographers, taking hands-on workshops and practicing and practicing and practicing.
in 2015, I transitioned to staying home with my littles and I quickly realized I missed the connection with other peoples' kiddos! It occurred to me that I could have that back in a special face-to-face way by taking photos! I quickly learned I loved capturing the whole family dynamic and all the emotions that exist within the unique relationships a family contains...between siblings, parents and the special bond each individual parent holds with each of their children. I love capturing emotions! I also adore the quiet of the newborn session and all of the itty bitty details.
